I just came back from a lunch with a friend at Cafe Orlin. A nice surprise. Hijiki Salad came with breaded tofu, watercress and avocado. A nice quiet dressing binds everything. Vegetarian Combo was scrumptious. Even the plain looking rice had a nice touch. Was it coconut milk or broth? I had Iced mint tea to wash it all down. She wanted to eat outside to de-freeze from her ice cold office. A perfect laid back cafe to have a vegetarian lunch. I will come back here.

Lunch at Ba’al Cafe: Falafel, Fried Eggplants and Zucchini, Tabbouleh, Pita—falafel, tabbouleh, pita were very good, but fried eggplants/zucchini was way to greasy and not edible.

Dinner: Roasted Beets and Greenbeans, Mixed Baby Green Salad with Grape Tomatoes, Spelt Toasts, Baked Sweet Potato—yes. I did finish all of them.

Breakfast: Very Berry Milk Shake

Lunch at ba’al cafe and falafel: Falafel, Hummus, Tabouli, Pita with Olive Oil and Sesame Seeds—falafel was good. Tabouli was awesome. Pita with olive oil and sesame was a nice touch. Hummus was ehh.

Dinner: Rice and Beans, Sauteed Kale, Avocado and Tomato Salsa, My NG Vegan Brownie—I used the left over 6 grain rice for rice n beans. Very good. Avocado and tomatoes are out of season right now, but sometimes you just want to have fresh vegetables in a middle of winter.

Dinner: Quinoa Salad, Hummus, Pita, Tangerines—these organic tangerines from the Co-op are so good. The closest tangerine to one I can eat in Japan.
